Most of us do not show up at the airport with no plan. No destination, no tickets, no luggage, no passport, no plan. If we did, we would not expect to get very far. No amazing vacation in the perfect destination with the perfect side trips.
Why show up to life like that? Plan life.
And when we do go on vacation, even a well-planned vacation never ends up as planned. We have stories we tell later. The storm we weathered, the wrong path taken, spending too much… this is part of the experience. At the time, being lost in a strange place can feel distressing but looking back, these are often the stories we tell to others. A perfect vacation is a good story but the adventure of things gone wrong is an even better story.
Yet in life, we either don’t plan or expect everything to go as planned.
Plan life. Then, expect to get lost or to weather a storm. You can tell of your adventures later.
