Every time before you post, ask yourself…
- Is this private information?
- Might this be misunderstood or misconstrued?
- Is this the right venue for this type of information?
- What would my grandparents think of this?
- What will I think of this in 10 years?
- Is this about someone else and do I have their permission?
- Will it embarrass or offend anyone and am I willing to live with the consequences of my actions?
- Do I take full responsibility for posting this?
- Am I posting this to be helpful or hurtful?
- Am I adding value to the world when I post this?
Not to say that you should always be serious. Check out my #caturday posts on Instagram. Do my cats add value? That’s like asking if you like cats. It depends on the person.
