Knowledge vs. Intelligence vs. Wisdom

Knowledge vs. Intelligence vs. Wisdom

Knowledge vs. Intelligence vs. Wisdom

According to the Oxford Dictionary…

Knowledge is “facts, information, and skills acquired through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject. The sum of what is known.”

Intelligence is “the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.”

Wisdom is “the quality of having an experience, knowledge and good judgment.”

According to real life…

Let’s imagine, you have a grandmother who loves to knit.

Knowledge is knowing that she loves to knit. Knowledge is knowing… What colours she likes to knit. When she likes to knit. Where she likes to knit. For whom she likes to knit. Why she learned to knit. Which knitting needles are her very favourite.

When your grandmother says that she can no longer find the right knitting needles and the right yarn…

Intelligence is taking all the knowledge you have of her love of knitting and finding a store that sells just what your grandmother needs and loves.

Wisdom is knowing your grandmother can no longer knit because of the arthritis in her hands, and agreeing that they just don’t make the same needles and the same quality yarn as they used to.
